Alpha Worship Center
where “Everybody is Somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord”
We are honored that you are visiting our website. As a church, we are always striving to find new ways to share the Good News about Jesus to the people of the Bear, Wilmington, the tri-state area and throughout the world. Whether you are checking out the “church thing” or you are already a follower of Christ, YOU are WELCOME here! If you are new to Alpha, we want you to know we are a place for people to discover and experience the love of a very real God. We work hard to make sure our church is a place where people of all backgrounds and experiences can come with their questions and doubts and explore what Christianity is all about. And we are working even harder to be the kind of church described in the Bible – a church with relevant teaching, authentic worship, sincere friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. So, if you’re looking for a community of real people discovering the real love of God, Alpha is for you.
About Us
The state announced Tuesday all Delawareans 16 years old or older can sign up for the state’s waiting list beginning on April 6 at 10 a.m. The waiting list can be accessed here.
Pharmacies may also begin vaccinating Delawareans who are 16-plus April 6.
This comes one week after all Delawareans 50 years or older became eligible. As of last Tuesday, those 50 years or older, those with underlying medical conditions and certain essential workers are currently eligible for the vaccine.
“Today’s announcement means that more Delawareans who want to be vaccinated will have the chance to find a shot,” said Gov. John Carney. “All three of these vaccines are extremely safe, and extremely effective against serious illness, hospitalization, and death. I’d urge all Delawareans to take the first shot you’re offered. That’s how we’ll beat this virus, and get back to spending more time with friends and family.”
As more Delawareans are vaccinated, the state has started to reopen.
Beginning Thursday at 8 a.m., capacity at outdoor venues will increase to 150 individuals, per an order from Gov. Carney. Capacity can increase further at certain venues pending approval from the Delaware Division of Public Health.
Indoor gatherings or events at any business or indoor space open to the public remain limited to the lesser of 50% of stated fire occupancy or 25 people. Food and drink establishments also remain at 50% of stated fire occupancy requirements, excluding employees.
Gov. Carney noted outdoor gatherings are safer and said he did not want to increase indoor occupancy just yet as Delaware is experiencing its highest case rates and percent-positive rates this month.
